Annual Report of the Library 2014-15

Library Committee Meetings
Library Committee meetings were held on 03/09/2014, 13/11/2014, 17/11/2014 and 29/01/2015 in which matters related to stock verification, purchase procedure, fund allocation and library overdue charges etc. were discussed and decided.

Growth of Library
Library has a collection of 23120 volumes. Apart from the regular subscription to some journals, the library, this year, has renewed its subscription to N-LIST (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Contents) programme of INFLIBNET. This has provided the facility to access a large number of e-resources to the students and staff through out the year 24X7.

Circulation and Overdue Charges
Library circulation (number of issue and return of books) has reached the figure of 38398 during the period from July 2014 to March 2015.
The Library collected Rs. 80503 during the period from April 2014 to March 2015 as overdue charges. The amount was deposited in the accounts department.

Library Orientation and Information Literacy Programme
Library organized an Orientation programme for all the students of first year. It also guided the students, batches, for using of N-List e-resources.
Library Blog
The blog is being updated time to time. Ever since the start of the blog, 22240 pageviews (as on 31 March 2015, 1910 hrs.) have been recorded from various parts of the globe including

Library Training
The Library imparted training to the 5 students of C Lib Sci and Diploma in Lib & Inf Technology of Delhi Library Association.

Future Plans for 2014-15


  • Introduce RFID system in the library.
  • Design and develop an Institutional Repository of the college using DSpace.
  • Study of feasibility of installation of KOHA – an open source software.
  • Acquire adequate furniture for the library reading room.
