Annual Report of the Library 2013-14

Library Committee Meetings
Library Committee meetings were held on 04/09/2013, 30/10/2013, and 24/01/2014 in which matters  related to stock verification, fund allocation and library software etc. were discussed and decided.
Growth of Library
Library has grown in terms of it collection of books. Number of books, during the financial year 2013-14, has increased from 22044 to 23072 (1028 Books). The library this year spent Rs 5,50000 on purchase of books.
Apart from the regular subscription to some journals, the library this year has started subscribing to N-LIST (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Contents) programme of INFLIBNET. This has provided the facility to access a large number of e-resources to the students and staff through out the year 24X7.
Circulation and Overdue Chares
Library circulation (number of issue and return of books) has reached the figure of 40480 during the period of July 2013 to February 2014.
The Library collected Rs. 64730 during the period from April 2013 to March 2014 as overdue charges. The amount was deposited in the accounts department.
Library Orientation and Information Literacy Programme
Library organized an Orientation programme for all the students of first year. It also guided the students, batches, for using of N-List e-resources.
Library also helped in organizing FYUP displays in the library reading room.
Library Blog
The blog is being updated time to time and since the start of the blog, 17642 pageviews (as on 24 March 2014) have been recorded from various parts of the globe including India (14116), US (755), Germany (200), Russia (137) and UK (49) etc.
Library Training
The Library imparted training to the 5 students of C Lib Sci and Diploma in Lib & Inf Technology of Delhi Library Association.
Future Plans for 2014-15

  • Introduce RFID system in the library.
  • Design and develop an Institutional Repository of the college using DSpace.
  • Study of feasibility of installation of KOHA – an open source software.
